MR. GEORGE ALTMAN was born on March 20, 1933 and spent three months in the Negro Leagues with the Kansas City Monarchs in 1955, before signing with the Chicago Cubs (1959-62, 1965-67) of baseball's Major Leagues. George was a National League All Star in 1961 and 1962. He then played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1963 and the New York Mets in 1964. Mr. Altman finished up his career in Japan where he spent 7 years until his retirement in 1975.
